Abstract

Cloudy water caused by dissolved air is a frequent source of complaints from customers of Severn Trent Water. Investigations identified problems as being associated with events such as pipe replacement or other works. It was also more generally and continuously present at certain locations. In once instance this was attributed to improper operation of a pressure sustaining valve.
