Abstract

The development of autonomous vehicles is currently being promoted massively, not least in the German automotive industry, under very high investments. The railway industry, shipbuilding, aircraft industry, and robot construction are also working on further developing their products (trains, ships, drones, robots, etc.) into self-driving or autonomous systems. This chapter therefore discusses the question in which aspects the testing of future autonomous systems will differ from the testing of software-based systems of today’s character and gives some suggestions for the corresponding further development of the test procedure.
