Abstract

Este trabalho tem por objetivo discutir o conceito de narcisismo a partir da obra freudiana. Situa o narcisismo como estruturante do sujeito psíquico e como recurso defensivo, a fim de suportar o sentimento de desamparo diante do adoecimento do corpo e da concepção da morte. A discussão teórica é ilustrada por um fragmento clínico de um caso atendido no Hospital do Servidor Público Estadual “Francisco Morato de Oliveira”.The aim of this study is to discuss the concept of narcisism from Freud's work. We set narcisism as the support of the psychic subject and the defensive resource to bear the feeling for helplessness before the aging of the body and before the idea, conception of death. The theoretical discussion is illustreted by a brief clinical case that was seen at Hospital do Servidor Público Estadual "Francisco Morato de Oliveira".
