Abstract

Gender mainstreaming is an important thing to be considered in the development in Indonesia. One of the goals of gender mainstreaming in the field of politics is about the representation of women in parliament, political parties, and political literacy in men and women. The study found that political literacy in men and women in Solok, West Sumatra fairly evenly. This is evident from the results of the study showthe level of political literacy of citizens Solok high at 71.6%, with the necessary political information indicators and strategies seek political information. Furthermore, a gender-based policy is needed in increasing the political literacy of society, especially women.
