Abstract

A satisfactory method of delivering shock to pigeons has been achieved by implanting 2 electrodes beneath the skin of the pigeon and connecting these electrodes to the source of stimulation via a loose-fitting harness-and-pulley arrangement. Specifications as to wiring and current are noted as is the effect on response rate of electrode implanation and harness fitting (none) and the cessation of responding to electric shock administered to 1 bird through this technique.
