Abstract
The convergence of digitalization and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies presents a transformative opportunity to challenge conventional paradigms in planning and design. While artificial intelligence (AI)-driven tools for architectural design have already made significant strides, there remains a research gap in leveraging digital intelligence for environmental data collection and analysis, particularly in the context of traditional village preservation. This study aims to address this gap by employing digital and IoT technologies to gather and analyse environmental data crucial for traditional village planning, specifically focusing on the creation of favourable microclimates. Through a combination of literature review and empirical case evaluation, this study explores advanced AI and Digital Twin technologies for environmental data collection and analysis. It proposes an integrated framework that utilizes digital and IoT pathways for village landscape planning, emphasizing the effectiveness of this approach through empirical validation. The findings highlight the pivotal role of digitalization and IoT in enhancing planning processes, demonstrating how intelligent analytical tools can significantly improve planning outcomes. By scientifically validating the creation of favourable microclimates, this approach not only addresses shortcomings in traditional methods but also enriches landscape architectural planning and design theory. Ultimately, this study establishes a comprehensive framework for preserving and enhancing traditional village environments, offering new insights and research directions in landscape architectural planning and design.
