Abstract
Silica triflate was prepared as a stable white powder by the reaction of silica gel with trifluoromethylsulfonyl chloride at room temperature. This reagent efficiently catalyzed the one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2- (1H)-ones and -thiones (DHPMs) under solvent-free reaction conditions in good to high yields. ©ARKAT USA, Inc.
