Abstract
Results of treatment of 230 patients with the spontaneous pneumothorax were analyzed. All patients were divided in 4 groups, depending on the method of treatment. 1 group consisted of 2 patients, who were successfully treated, using pleural puncture. 2nd group consisted of 132 patients, who were drained. Patients of the 3rd group (n=73) had video-thoracoscopic operation, and 23 patients of the 4th group had to overcome thoracotomy. Analysis allowed to state indications for thoracoscopic procedures by pneumothorax, and showed, that pleural drainage remains to be the most appropriate way to treat the spontaneous pneumothorax. By the drainage failure, thoracoscopic radical operation is indicated.
