Abstract

This research studies the existing challenge when constructing subjects for community economy. Through contributions from critical studies of work and feminist theories of subjectivity, the study turns to the biographical method to analyze the subjective work trajectories of activists of the Women’s School of Madrid, based on three milestones: illusion, shock and awakening. In the strenuous transit of salaried workers to cooperatives, the community economy emerges as a reflexive scenario to re-create and collectively sustain ethical practices that promise a better life.
