Abstract

A communication system should be established that allows patients with brain disease to make real-time diagnosis using sensors and to notify the medical period in case of an emergency. However, an unconscious patient must have a brain computer interface (BCI) to communicate with a medical institution. Therefore, domestic and international standardization projects for the brain sensor-based BCI (SC43) network that can communicate with patients with brain diseases should be carried out. Nevertheless, the brain sensor must be able to be energized by a battery. It is important to attach a receiving module that can receive energy to the scalp with the battery and sensor inserted into the brain. A rectenna is suitable for a module that can receive energy from the outside, and it is important to realize a standardization project that complies with medical safety (IEC8061-2-78:2019PRV) and electromagnetic wave immunity safety law (KC60335-2-23). This paper proposes a bandpass filter design for impedance matching of rectenna that can be applied to driving a brain-inserted sensor and discusses the necessity of establishing standardization of medical safety and electrical safety for BCI interworking.
