PENERJEMAHAN DAN ETNISITAS: STUDI PUSTAKA DALAM PENERJEMAHAN DIALEK

Abstract

This article is based on a case that emerged during a translation course, especially translation which discussed dialects. Many questions arise about how important dialect is for translation and what is the right strategy for translating it. Therefore, researchers, through literature study, try to find the right strategy regarding the importance of dialect in translation. As is known, dialect shows a person's ethnicity, so to translate that ethnicity from one language to another, appropriate considerations are needed so that the translation results are also good. From the results of the literature study, it is known that strategies for translating dialects can be done by: changing into standard language, translating into non-standard language, and creating other types of non-standard language.
