Determinan Efisiensi Teknis Usahatani Padi di Lahan Sawah Irigasi

Abstract

In line with limitation of government spending to develop both new construction and rehabilitation of rice field, the growth of rice production highly depend on the success of increasing productivity of the existing rice field. It requires improvement of technical efficiency of rice farming. To meet the need, managerial capability of rice farmer must be enhanced. This research aims to identify productivity level, efficiency rating among farmers and its determinant. Results of the study show that the average of technical efficiency achieved by farmers was 0.713 with coefficient of variation 0.184. Using TE effect model, the study found that the main factors determined the rate of efficiency were the role of rice farming on households income, diversity index of cropping pattern of the farmers within the tertiary block, and status of land cultivated.
