Abstract

Stunting is the physical growth disorders characterized by decreased growth rate. Stunting is caused by multi-dimensional factors and not only due to malnutrition, this is a consequence of several factors, one of which is often associated with environmental factors. The research aimed to determine the relationship of the fulfillment of access to clean water and sanitation to the incidence of stunting in Puskesmas Cangadi. This research is an observational analytic study with a Case Control design. Data obtained by measuring TB on children using microtoise, interviews and filling a questionnaire to the mother. The results of chi square analysis showed indicators of access to sanitation has a relationship with the incidence of stunting hand washing with soap, tooth brushing, cleaning toys, store food, wash your hands of time, the condition of waterways, waste storage and the condition of the home environment. Meanwhile, there are 4 indicators of fulfillment of access to clean water, which have a relationship with the incidence of stunting, namely the distance of pollutants, drinking water sources, drinking water treatment and draining water tanks. Most indicators of the fulfillment of access to clean water and sanitation related to the incidence of stunting. Prevention and control of stunting can be done by optimizing the provision of information or strategies to improve the behavior of people to be able to apply them in their everyday lives.
