Iatrogenic swallowing of dentures with resultant tracheal compression requiring mechanical ventilation: A case report

Abstract

Swallowing and aspiration of dentures have commonly been reported in the literature. The esophageal complications have been well described, but tracheal complications are yet to be reported. We report a case of tracheal compromise with acute respiratory failure from an aspirated denture. © 2008 Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.
