Abstract

Visual Aesthetic Study of Kiprah Glipang Dance Probolinggo. The Kiprah Glipang dance is a traditional art form originating from Pendhil Village, Probolinggo Regency. As time goes by, this traditional dance is increasingly fading, especially in the Probolinggo community itself so that the existence and insight related to the kiprah glipang dance has also decreased. As a result, more and more people, especially Probolinggo, do not know their local arts. Therefore, this study is conducted to analyze the visual glipang dance based on the aspects of clothing, make-up, and gestures with the aim of providing a detailed description as well as introducing the art of glipang dance to the wider community. The method used is art criticism E.B. Feldman with the data obtained through literature study and documentation. The results obtained show that the kiprah glipang dance is a dance that represents a person's courage in defending truth and justice where it is manifested in the aspect of clothing that uses bold colors, make-up that creates assertive expressions, and also popping gestures which mostly adopt the martial arts movement. Keywords: Probolinggo; kiprah glipang dance; clothing; make-up; body movements
