Abstract

The objective of the research was to study the immediacy in the dissemination of news in digital media and its verification process. The text presents a theoretical framework on journalism, how its insertion in the digital age is handled, and how information verifications are carried out. In addition, the article presents an analysis to last year’s fake news about the construction of a pediatric hospital by soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo in Chile. This analysis showed that none of the selected notes contained more than one source, and none of the sites made editions to change the errors.
