Educação escolar para jovens e adultos em situação de privação de liberdade

Abstract

RESUMO: A intenção deste artigo é tecer reflexões sobre o papel da educação escolar para jovens e adultos em um espaço singular: a prisão. Esta instituição se propõe a (re)inserir pessoas à vida em sociedade, melhor preparadas para o convívio social e dotadas de conhecimentos, habilidades e valores que, na maioria das vezes, não tiveram assegurados ao longo da vida. Nos espaços prisionais é fundamental a escuta de pessoas que são silenciadas pelas normas do sistema e abrir espaços para as narrativas de vida é dar-lhes oportunidade de saber-se no passado-presente. Nessa perspectiva, a Educação para Jovens e Adultos em espaços de privação de liberdade deve estar pautada nos ideais da educação popular, que tem o homem e a vida como centro do processo educativo, e em que o aprender a ler, escrever e interpretar perpasse esse movimento de (re)construção da cidadania e de humanização das pessoas. ABSTRACT: The intent of this paper is to present reflections on the role of Youth and Adult Education in a singular space: prison. This institution aims to (re)insert people into life in society - people who are better prepared for social life and who have knowledge, skills and values that, most of the time, were not offered throughout their lives. In prison spaces, it is fundamental to listen to people who are silenced by the system's norms. To open spaces for their life narratives is to give them the opportunity to belong in the past-present. In this perspective, Youth and Adult Education in spaces of deprivation of liberty must be based on ideals of popular education, which has man and life as the center of the educational process, and in which learning to read, to write and to interpret, permeate this movement of (re)constructing one's citizenship and people's humanization.
