An exact analysis of an ideal static AC chopper

Abstract

A method of harmonic analysis which is employed to determine the harmonic spectra of the input current of a single-phase chopper is presented. The performance of the AC chopper when controlled by a proposed control scheme (equal time ratio control) is presented. It has the advantages of linear control of the fundamental component of the output voltage and ease of generating the control signal. Experimental results verifying the analysis are presented. © 1993 Taylor & Francis Ltd.
