Razumevanje pojma »ekosistemski pristop«

Abstract

Ecosystem modifications are caused by anthropogenic activities. Human adaptation to the changes within the ecosystem is slow, because it all starts by changing awareness, values, utilization patterns, knowledge accumulation and good practice examples. Social components of the ecosystem (technological and institutional) can be quick and outmatch modification capacities of other parts of the ecosystem. For example, rapid consumption of natural resources exceeds their restoration. So it is necessary to choose a more responsible attitude towards natural resources, ecosystem assets and services.Človekove aktivnosti v pokrajini povzročajo spremembe v ekosistemih. Naše prilagajanje na spremembe v ekosistemu je počasno, saj se začne pri zavedanju vrednot narave in spreminjanju ustaljenih navad. Družbene spremembe (tehnološke in institucionalne) so lahko hitre in presegajo zmogljivosti sprememb drugih delov ekosistema (npr. hitra poraba naravnih virov presega njihovo obnovo). Prav zato je potrebno pristopiti k odgovornemu odnosu do ekosistemov in njihovih storitev. Eden od pristopov za sožitje med človekom in naravo je ekosistemski pristop.
