Abstract

A small collection of linyphiid spiders from agrocenoses on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi contains four species, two of which are new: Maorineta Sulawesi sp. n. and Microbathyphantes Celebes sp. n. A new genus Australo - phantes gen. n. is established for Agyneta laetesiformis Wunderlich, 1976 (the type species) which was previously known from Queensland, Australia only. Based on the new data, the linyphiid fauna of Sulawesi is currently known to contain seven species, and it shows relations to the Australian and Oriental faunas.
