Abstract
Academic contributions related to the use of biological control in sugar cane crops are provided from the economic perspective. Current qualitative research comprises a review of the literature, documental and bibliographical analysis with the terms biological control, productivity, production costs. Results show that biological control of sugar cane crops has an important role in the expansion of agricultural production and of cane-derived products. They also underscored the relevance of costs-benefits analyses for sustainability with the improvement of biological control techniques in the sugar cane sector. The theme has not been studied often by undergraduates in rural economy and agribusiness.
