Abstract

A new species, Verticimonosporium verticale, is described and illustrated based on the distinctive characteristics of having mature conidium singly positioned at a right angle to the phialide tip and cylindrical to ellipsoidal conidia. The differences of the new species from other Verticimonosporium species and close-related hyphomycetes are briefly discussed.
