Abstract

This paper explores the integration of the 5S methodology with Industry 4.0 technologies, highlighting how traditional principles of workplace organization and efficiency are enhanced through advanced digital tools. The 5S system-Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain-plays a crucial role in improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring high-quality production. With the advent of Industry 4.0, technologies such as automation, IoT, AI, and data analytics significantly augment the effectiveness of 5S practices, enabling real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making. The paper demonstrates how the synergy between 5S, Industry 4.0, and Quality 4.0 fosters a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and sustainability, positioning organizations for long-term success in the evolving industrial landscape.
