Abstract

Mesoporous molecular catalyst alumina-containing hexagonal mesoporous silica (Al-HMS) of different Si/Al ratios have been synthesize by neutral templating method and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET). These dates confirmed the hexagonal mesoporous structure formation at different Si/Al ratios. The Al-HMS as catalyst applying to adsorb gossypol in cottonseed oil and gossypol adsorption increased with the amount of Al loading. Under the optimal conditions, the gossypol adsorption was more than 60 %.
