Accessibility of Public Services for Service Users with Disabilities at the Social Service in Makassar City

Abstract

This study aims to determine the accessibility of public services for service users with disabilities at the Makassar City Social Service. This type of research is qualitative with data collection techniques carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used consists of condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the accessibility of public services for service users with disabilities at the Makassar City Social Service has not been fulfilled when referring to statutory regulations. The quality of available facilities and infrastructure still does not fully meet the ideal measurement criteria indicators, namely: 1) security; 2) convenience; 3) convenience; 4) aesthetics. Factors that support the fulfillment of accessibility for persons with disabilities include: the availability of several service support facilities. While the factors hindering the fulfillment of accessibility include: lack of awareness in fulfilling facilities for persons with disabilities, the absence of changes to local regulations and mayor regulations that refer to the latest laws and regulations and the lack of budget availability in fulfilling facilities that are still not available.
