Abstract
Introduction: The prevalence of maternal and infant mortality in Indonesia is still high. This is due to the high risk of pregnancies caused by various health problems. Objective: This study aims to analyze factors related to the behavior of pregnant women who attend prenatal mother classes in preventing high-risk pregnancies. Method: Type and design of a quantitative study using a cross-sectional study design conducted at the Padang Matinggi Public Health Center from July 2022 to February 2023. The population was all pregnant women who attended prenatal classes of 895 pregnant women and the sample size was determined using the Slovin formula. 276 pregnant women with accidental sampling. The collection and processing of the data used were primary and secondary data using a questionnaire, as well as statistical analysis using the chi-square test and logistic regression. Result: The results showed that knowledge (p=0.017), attitude (p=0.001), family support (p=0.014) and the role of health workers (p=0.001) were related to the behavior of pregnant women who attended prenatal mother classes in preventing high-risk pregnancies height and the unrelated variable is work (p=0.340), and attitude is the variable most related to Exp (B)=27.622. Conclusion: The conclusion was obtained that knowledge, attitudes, family support and the role of health workers are factors that cause the behavior of pregnant women who attend prenatal classes in preventing high-risk pregnancies, so that programmed education efforts are needed regarding sustainable prenatal classes.
