Abstract

The purpose of this research is to apply quality management and cost analysis tools to calculate the losses caused by problems in the production process and evaluate how to reduce them by applying quality management in the company EASY PUBLICIDAD, in the city of Trujillo, Peru. The stated objective is to reduce the losses caused by problems in the production process and in quality management by implementing a plan to improve quality control for the company with the assumption that this will lead to a reduction in economic losses. For this purpose, quality improvement tools and statistical tests were used, including control charts, QFD (quality function deployment), FMEA, DMAIC and Lean Six Sigma. The study is based on formal and exact science and has a diagnostic and purposeful nature. It was determined that in the loss estimation after the application of the improvement tools, the total amount of losses is reduced from S/. 15,434.69 to S/. 8,028.92. In the control charts it can be noticed that after applying the improvement, the measured points are close to the average, which is a positive indicator for the company, because of an appropriate application of quality tools and statistical tests mentioned above. It was determined that, by applying the proposed improvement plan, the company reduces its losses and increases the quality of the product it manufactures, satisfying its customers.
