Abstract
Estimates are given for the rate of partial inbreeding when a maternal homozygous genotype and her progeny are known. Also considered are estimates for X-linked genes (or haplo-diploid organisms), situations in which there is more than one type of inbreeding, inbreeding in previous generations, variation in male allelic frequencies, and null alleles. These procedures could be used in animals as well as plants although the size of the progeny array must be fairly large. © 1987 The Genetical Society of Great Britain.
