Abstract
A method of maintaining pluripotent stem cells comprises growing the cells in a basal medium and a title compd. [I; R1 = H, (substituted) alkyl, alkenyl, aryl(alkyl), heteroaryl(alkyl), cycloalkyl(alkyl), heterocyclyl(alkyl)]. Thus, I (R1 = 3-H2NC6H4) [prepn. from 5-bromo-2,4-dichloropyrimidine, MeNH2, tributylvinyltin, N-(3-amino-4-methylphenyl)-3-trifluoromethylbenzamide, and 1,3-phenylenediamine given] maintained mouse ES cell pluripotency at an effective concn. of 2 μM.
