Abstract

This article deals with the material conditions for the digital inclusion in the Argentinian urban population based on the exploration of the access availability and use of technologies. It analyzes the results from a permanent survey to homes (EPH), named the Access Module and Use of Information & Communication Technologies (MAUTIC) and examines the basic dimensions of the digital inclusion and its relationship to the income structure in the homes, the work placement of men and women who are household heads, the socioeconomic level, and the educative climate prevailing within the family. This work is based on the information obtained by processing and analyzing the microdata from the EPH-MAUTIC. It focuses on the determining action caused by the social and economic gap on the conditions for the digital inclusion or exclusion.
