Abstract

The coordinate condition in the canonical formalism leads, in a special case, to a physically acceptable metric tensor which is Minkowskian at spatial infinity. The gravitational potential for many-body system is calculated in the post-post-Newtonian approximation based on the canonical formalism. It coincides with that obtained from the Lagrangian of Fokker type.
