Abstract

A convenient aerobic oxidation of N- and C-containing heterocycles using a readily available inorganic base (KOtBu) in the presence of a Pd catalyst is reported. A range of N-containing heteroaromatic compounds as well as a number of anilines have been successfully prepared in good yields. This cost-efficient synthesis has opened the pathway toward a potential application for the synthesis of a variety of other useful heteroaromatic compounds.
