Abstract

Coffe is one of the most popular and most popular drinks after tea. Characterized by the many coffe shops popping up ih the country, yhe development of coffe is increasing in line with the demand for Indonesian coffe and the quality of Indonesian coffe is getting better. With the growth of the coffe processing industry in the archipelago, coffe has become a commodity with many raw materials. With many coffe fans, coffe has become one of Indonesia’s export trade goods as a source of foreign exchange for the country. The rise of coffe shops creates large amounts of food waste from coffe grounds. However, the waste produced is still small enough to be recycled into more useful products. Coffe grounds waste can be used as a natural fabric dye. Coffe grounds that are improperly processed can be toxic to the ecosystem because they contain caffeine, tannins, and polyphenols. The author processes coffe grounds as a natural dye by extracting coffe graounds using mordant as a color enhacer. Extracted coffe grounds can be used as a plant fertilizer mixture to help increase soil fertility and health. The cooring results from coffe grounds are applied into Ready-To-Wear Deluxe products which are combined with batik typical of the Banyuwangi region. This development is needed to increase the aesthetic value and quality of the product, the color produced from coffe grounds can very depending on the type of mordant used.The fashion industry is currently looking for more environmentally friendly alternatives. This research aims to describe the process of making Ready-To-Wear Deluxe clothing with the innovative use of natural dyes from coffe grounds and a combination of slashing techniques on Banyuwangi broken coffee batik cloth. The use of natural coloring from coffee grounds as an alternative to synthetic dyes and a combination of slashing techniques on Banyuwangi broken coffe batik cloth provide added value to the final product. This research applies the FEA Consumer Needs Model method to identify the Functional, Expressive, and Aesthetic that consumers most seek in this product. The uniqe Ready-To-Wear Deluxe fashion product can contribute to the development of a sustainable fashion industry by utilizing the potential of local natural resources from the natural color characteristics of coffee grounds and also the attreactive modern aesthetic appearance of slashing techniques with traditional values. Apart from that, this research will analyze the final results of clothing produced from a combination of these techniques and materials. The research results can be used by designers of manufacturers to create products that not only meet functional needs, but also provide emotional and social value for consumers.
