HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP REMAJA PUTRI SERTA PAPARAN MEDIA INFORMASI TERHADAP PERILAKU PENCEGAHAN ANEMIA DI SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 04 KOTA DEPOK

Abstract

Background: The transition from childhood to adulthood is the stage of adolescence. This period is marked by a number of biological, cognitive, and emotional changes (Muljati et.al, 2016). Menstruation experienced by young women every month and consumption patterns that sometimes go on a diet so that less iron intake can meet their needs can cause anemia (Martini, 2015). According to Riskesdas data (2018), the prevalence of anemia in Indonesia is 48.9% with the proportion of anemia in the age group of 15-24 years and 25-34 years (Kemenkes RI, 2018). According to the Depok City Health Profile in 2017 the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls was 34.5% of adolescent girls who had anemia (Depok City Health Office Profile 2017). The purpose of this study: to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of young women and exposure to information media on anemia prevention behavior. Method: This quantitative analytic study uses a cross sectional research design. The number of samples was 81 people at SMA Muhammadiyah 04 Depok. The results obtained by adolescents aged ≤16 years were 52 (64.2%) and> 16 years 29 (35.8%). 54 respondents (66.7%) lacked knowledge, 31 (38.3%) respondents had poor attitudes and 60 (74.1%) respondents had less media exposure to information media. Statistical test results on knowledge about anemia (p=0.621, p>0.05), attitudes toward anemia prevention (p=0.432, p>0.05) and media exposure to information about anemia prevention (p=0.796, p>0.05), it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship.
