Abstract

The ClL2,3VV Auger electron spectrum (AES) of chlorine spectra was studied. The theoretical AES of XCl molecules was calculated. It was found that the molecular field splitting for the XCl two hole final state is dominated by the X+ monopole CL+ quadrupole interaction. Quadrupole splitting was reduced with the increase of the Pauli repulsion.
