A atual política econômica e os descaminhos do monetarismo

Abstract

RESUMO Após anos de estímulo ao endividamento externo, desde 1976 o governo brasileiro tem enfrentado grande dificuldade em fechar as lacunas no balanço de pagamentos. Novas políticas monetárias foram emitidas desde 1979, sob a orientação da teoria econômica mais ortodoxa. Neste artigo, discutimos a dificuldade da política ortodoxa em apresentar resultados e reduzir a inflação no Brasil.ABSTRACT After years of stimulus to foreign indebtment, since 1976 the Brazilian government has been under great difficulty in closing the gaps in the balance of payments. New monetary policies have been issued since 1979, under the most orthodox economic theory guidance. In this paper, we discuss the difficulty in the orthodox policy to present results and lowering inflation in Brazil.
