Abstract

A Flexibacter columnaris-like bacterium, isolated from Dover sole suffering from 'black patch necrosis' in Scotland, was compared to F. columnaris, F. psychrophilus, F. maritimus, and to all other valid Flexibacter and Cytophaga species.
