Abstract

This article aims to recover the figure of Consuelo González Ramos (Celsia Regis) as one of the most outstanding representatives of the Spanish feminist movement of the early 20th century. She is considered a forerunner of Spanish women’s associations, but also a pioneer in undertaking different socio-economic projects aimed at providing women with adequate training to enable them to enter the labour market as a preliminary step to their emancipation. The analysis of the historical documentation generated by the protagonist herself, together with archival sources, will allow us to understand the motives that drove her to carry out this social work, as well as to clarify relevant data from her biography that will show her to be a charismatic and fighter woman. These characteristics meant that she took on numerous challenges in areas so far not reserved for women.
