Abstract
In The Evolu- tion of American Educational Technology, Paul Saettler shows us that historical scholarship provides a rich and complex set of answers to the question of what was, and what is, there. Every ETR&D reader should consider the value that this extensive chronicle will add to his or her professional library. One would hope that it will result in a revitalization of foundation courses in educational technology graduate programs and greater awareness among practitioners. Beyond this, The Evolu- tion of American Educational Technology offers a unique perspective on the process of change in America
