Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in ensuring sustainable development. Its importance in shaping the future is absolute, and implementing advanced systems and methods for fostering environmental awareness and achieving sustainability within society through education is essential. The article investigates the role of Green Pedagogy, implemented at the University College for Agricultural and Environmental Education in Vienna, to promote environmental protection and integrate ecological awareness and sustainability-focused innovations. This paper aims to elucidate how the teaching methodologies and principles of green pedagogy can enable students to cultivate new environmental habits, foster a sense of green citizenship, and facilitate the development of community-based ecological initiatives
