Abstract

The Global Engagement Department (GED's) is addressing critical challenges in command and control (C2) for the DoD and other government agencies by providing capabilities for seamless information sharing, collaboration, and decision making across national, strategic, operational, and tactical echelons of command. These capabilities include methodologies and tools to dynamically assemble an enable virtualteams of warfighters and subject-matter experts to imrove responsesto military or homeland security crises, as well as thecapability to evaluate and assess warfighter value, robustness, and interoperability of proposed C2 implementations by using a broad range of measurements. These capabilities are based on a net-centric data strategy an service-oriented architecture and are built o th Global InformationGrid. This article provides some examples of GED work in these areas.
