Abstract

This article outlines the notion of stability of nonlinear systems, for both continuous-time and discrete-time settings. Basic concepts and fundamental theorems of various system stabilities are introduced. These mainly include the important Lyapunov stability theory, along with some others such as the Zhukovskij stability theory and orbital as well as structural stabilities. Bounded-input bounded-output stability of maps is also discussed.
