Abstract
This study analyzes the relationship between optimism, competitive anxiety and self-confidence, in 133 handball teen players. For the above mentioned analysis they administered the LOT-R questionnaires in the Spanish version by (Otero-López, Luengo, Romero, Triñanes, Gómez y Castro, 1998) and CSAI-2 (Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2) by Martens, Burton, Vealy, Bump y Smith (1990). The results indicate that the athletes with optimistic profile feel less anxiety state, both cognitive and physiological, founding in the last one statistically significant results. On the other hand, the optimistic subjects show higher levels of selfconfidence. © 2013: Servicio de Publicaciones de la Universidad de Murcia. Murcia (España).
