Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze the theoretical basis, measures and variables with which the study of organizational culture in higher education has been associated. Two phases were carried out in order to gather information: at international level and about Latin America. The results showed that the main definition of organizational culture assumed is that of Schein. In 13 of the 21 documents that have been analyzed, the relationship between organizational culture and other variables such as organizational performance and creative activity could be studied as the main ones. Based on the results, the authors suggest to keep carrying out research based on a strong theoretical and methodological rigor.
