Abstract

Convenient syntheses of sodium alkane- and arenesulfinates in high yields and purities have been provided by nucleophilic substitution reactions of alkyl phthalimidomethyl sulfones and aryl succinimidomethyl sulfones, respectively, with ethoxide or thiolates. © 1978, The Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
