Abstract

The deployment of artificial intelligence into the healthcare sector is quite significant in enhancing diagnosis, treatment and the outcomes of patient. However, for every person that is vulnerable, like the ethnic minorities, low income nations and the racial minorities, inequalities among individuals as well as the elderly, there is is a need to consider the ethical concerns for the people in the aforementioned. Thus, the study explored the artificial intelligence technologies developed and utilized without considering the ethical issues. This can have problem of systemic inequities. It can reinforce bias, increase health disparities and compromise the autonomy of the patient. Major concerns include; bias in algorithm, data representation, digital accessibility and inadequate inclusiveness in governance structures. Thus, the review focused mainly on the ethical framework, its significance, inclusion of the data practices as well as the engagement of the community for ensuring that artificial intelligence in healthcare accelerates equity and protects the risk involved. Hence, addressing these problems will help in working towards a just and effective integration of artificial intelligence in the healthcare for people.
