Abstract

Large beeches Fagus grandifolia and sugar maples Acer saccharam were most often used, with nests in sugar maples occurring relatively higher than those in beeches. Nest height was positively correlated with height of the nest tree. There were no significant differences between nests located in the 2 major tree species, nor between 9 successful and 5 unsuccessful nests in 1980. -from Authors
