Abstract
The high prevalence of Covid-19 in the world which has caused many people to die is an important reason to explain the stages of grief for people who have lost loved ones during Covid-19. This study aims to explain the stages of grief experienced by people who have lost loved ones during Covid-19. Qualitative methods were used in this study involving 7 research participants, with details of 3 men and 4 women. Research participants were determined based on historical evidence from the results of the Antigen Test and PCR SWAB tests to ensure that their loved ones died due to Covid-19. This study uses in-depth interview techniques in data collection and thematic analysis in analyzing data. The results show that the stages of grief for people who have been abandoned by loved ones due to Covid-19 consist of participants’ early experiences, denial, anger, bargain, depression, and acceptance. Participants also explored various ways to overcome their grieving conditions. Not all of the research participants had successive stages of grief like Elisabeth Kubler-Ross’ model of grief. The time span or duration of the participant’s experience from the early experience to the acceptance process is also discussed
