Abstract
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) in production and manufacturing is rapidly and radically changing our working world. In this article, we address the question of how AI in the workplace can be designed in human interest. For this purpose, different perspectives on humancentered AI are presented. Subsequently, the SMART work design model is introduced [37, 43]. Based on the model, we discuss criteria for the development of human-centered hybrid intelligence. Finally, five design steps are derived that can help organizations design human-centered human-AI teams.
