Abstract

An efficient synthesis of amidoalkyl naphthols using Citric acid as a biodegradable catalyst is described. It involves the three-component reaction of 2-naphthol, aldehydes and amides/urea in the presence of catalytic amount of Citric acid under thermal solvent-free conditions.
